Launch of a TV Station

Commercial television station 2BE was relaunched as Q2. We won the pitch.

A test booth is placed centrally in three mayor cities. Inside, a viewer gets to watch a brand new Q2 show while we bio-monitor his or her body. The data are used to announce the tv station in at least four different ways:

  1. A digital billboard in the surroundings of the test booth, where the new show is announced. Statistics are shown.
  2. Live online bannering; streaming of the test subjects’ faces + stats.
  3. Print ads with faces + stats.
  4. A compilation of the most suprising, touching, intense… reactions gets reworked into TV trailers.

Everybody watches television in their own way and Q2 unites everyone. We see small 2 seconds scenes with one big, continuous movement in all the different viewers.

We see…

.. two friends in separate chairs in front of the television. One pats the other on the back

.. a man in overalls who takes a sip from his beer

.. a student at the library, concentrated on the iPad in front of him

.. a local football team of 20. Everybody in full colors, shirts and scarves

.. the emotion of a missed goal attempt on the face of a young father

.. same emotion on the face of a business man boarding a plane

.. the tension of a new chance in a full bar

.. tension on the face of a young girl in her room watching her phone

.. one of three friends makes a fist in a regular living room

.. the fist of a famous retired football coach

.. the fist becomes two hands of a young supporter

.. two hands over a mouth, the goal is near

Begintune famous Q2 drama series

We see…

.. a young woman sits next to her husband on the sofa. They’re watching a series in suspense. She takes a bowl of chips out of her husband’s hands and bring it to her mouth.

.. the chips turns into a sushi roll that goes to the mouth of a teenager that watches television in her parents’ house. She watches with Whatsapp next to her and has a digital conversation with her friend.

.. the sushi roll becomes popcorn that goes to the mouth of a guy in his early 20’s in a student dorm. He’s watching with a couple of friends, who hang all over the sofa. They’re also following the Twitter-stream during the broadcast.

.. popcorn becomes a fresh cut piece of fruit, in the living room of a couple..

.. a taco for a man who watches his iPad on the platform of a railway station.

Suspense on the television screen…

.. a woman starts chewing a little slower, concentration on her face..

.. dissolves into the concentration of a fortysomething who eats..

.. goes to a child who watches a series on his laptop, now with an open mouth because he forgets to chew…

A shocking image..

.. a woman jumps up from the sofa, her chips flies off her lap in slow motion. The chips go everywhere..

.. a sushi boat fall on the carpet, sauces included..

.. popcorn flies all over the living room..

.. the fresh cut fruit flies..

.. tacos with spicy dip falls on the carpet..

.. a mountain of crumbling cookies.

We see…

..  the movement becomes more intense with the next gentleman

.. the finger of an adolescent pressing ‘like’ on the Q2 FB page

.. one finger becomes two

..four fingers tapping

..the hand of a child taps the edge of a Q2 iPad

.. a hand with a golden bracelet

.. a leg and a foot start to move

.. a second hand of a father comes into view, tapping along in double time

.. the foot is a pump

.. an All Star shoe 

.. a woman puts her iPad next to her and nods her head along to the music

.. a chubby fourtysomething headbangs

.. a young guy headbangs intensely

.. a group of friends finishes off the movement, they headbang perfectly along with the beat

.. a man headbangs alone next to his dog

.. a kid starts to play air drums, while the headbanging goes on

VO Her heartbeat was 92 bpm. With peaks all the way up to 122 bpm at the most tense moments.

Shouts of surprise (Oh..Waw..)

VO Sandra burned 89 calories..

FX: Crackling fire.

VO: And perspired a little less than 12 milliliters.

FX: Soft rain. Sandra sighs.

VO: The fingernails on her left hand grew 0,4 mm.
